*WARNING* In case you haven’t already guessed that is a lemon (not the fruit) then let me explain to all those who aren’t familiar with the term. I’ll put it in movie terms: the following contains graphic content that maybe inappropriate to people under 17. The time was around as the sun was high in the clear blue sky. Casting no shadows upon nothing, the digital world was at the clearest stages of the day. However, shadows still tend to emerge from nowhere as places within the digital world were mysteriously covered by dark clouds. Light could not penetrate through the darken shield as two beings were on the ground. They had been unconscious ever since they came across the shadowy figure. They had started with a group of four, but soon were belittled into two.
One stirred around as he was started to come to. Grunting because of his current position he
pushed off from his arms and began to look around. He had remembered very little to how he could
have gotten here. However, he did
remember he was with Tai and Sora. He had also been with Biyomon
having a little bit more of an interesting relationship before Tai and Sora showed up. Agumon looked around, observing what he could for he was
now a stranger in an unfamiliar lands. He had observed quite a bit, as strange
sensations had somehow emerged.
Not just one of his senses, but all five of his senses seemed to be a little
bit altered. His sight was sharper as
well as his smell and hearing. The touch
felt so much smoother to him like his rough, scaly, exterior skin seemed to
have been rubbed off. Even the taste of
the air that he breathed was a little bit more crisp and dry. Little details seemed to have created such a
large impact on Agumon as he couldn’t explain why he
was feeling these new additions.
He turned his head seeing a figure on the ground. He quickly rushed over to see that it was Sora lying on the ground. Agumon was a little surprised to see that he had managed to locate her. But there was no sign of either Tai or Biyomon. It didn’t matter right now, if he could help Sora then that would be good enough for now.
“Sora, are you all right?” Agumon asked. The footsteps he took were odd enough as well and when he knelt down it seemed that he was at a familiar level. When he knelt down he had to understand something as he looked down upon his hands. His eyes widened, as the sight was something behold.
He saw before him five fingers attached to a human hand. He touched his chest to feel that he was wearing a jacket much like Tai’s. In fact it was exactly like Tai’s, as he thought, “Am I dreaming?”
Sora stirred again as she opened her eyes, “Tai? Is that you?” she muttered.
“No…it isn’t Sora, it really isn’t” Agumon replied
Elsewhere in the Digital World
A young boy who rode with two companions called out down below in the forest. His voice echoed through the empty forest as no one cared to answer back. It had also seemed that they hadn’t seen the sun really shine down upon them as some dark ominous clouds were created for them everywhere they went.
It was like a black omen that never seemed to rest for TK, Kari, and Pegasusmon. That however wasn’t the most troubling to Kari. Each time TK had called out Kari’s name she wanted to scream right back at him, “It’s me TK, I’m Kari.”
It had pained her that she was keeping this from TK, but it was for his own good. Concluding that he wouldn’t be able to handle this change. She played along with TK and Pegasusmon’s lead and called like the rest of them.
“Kari! Can you here me!?!” she called from above.
“Kari! Where could she be?” TK asked.
Kari looked up to see TK’s worried _expression. She didn’t want him to go through this, especially if she could ease his worries by saying the five words deep within her. However with Pegasusmon being with them, it made Kari’s decision final. If she had told him about this, what would Patamon think after that last night? Would he think that she was just trying to get a little action from him? He couldn’t admit this in front of both of them.
TK suddenly replied, “That’s weird…”
“Huh? What is it TK?” Kari asked
TK gazed down upon Kari as he replied; “I’m not getting any signal from Kari at all. Maybe she went back to the real world. But that’s not the reason why I said this is weird. I’m not getting any signal from you either Gatomon. It only shows me and Pegasusmon on my D-3.”
“What? How can that be?” Kari asked.
TK couldn’t explain it, “I don’t have a clue Gatomon. But if this is happening to you, we have to expect the same thing happened Kari. That means we can’t rely on my D-3 to help us out on this one. Well just try and keep an eye out down below.”
Kari nodded as the winds continued to blow right pass them. They had been searching for “Kari” ever since they got up around dawn. The darken clouds as well had continued to follow them the moment they had taken flight. It felt a little like something was preventing them to succeed or at the most someone was following them. With watchful eyes, they would peer from those clouds and appear if Kari and others posed a threat. Perhaps it was her imagination, and most likely it was, but the feeling of a dark presence was always Kari.
Kari turned her head to stare down below. She had a troubled and uneasy _expression on which had caught the attention of TK. He placed his hands at her shoulders, “Hey Gatomon, are you ok?”
“Huh?” Kari was a little startled, “Oh…no it’s nothing.”
“Well hope you don’t mind that I’m being a little nosy, but you look pretty sad to me.” TK asked
Kari wasn’t much up for talk, not with TK right now. “It’s really nothing TK, I’m just worried about Kari right now, that’s all. The sooner we find her, I sooner I can relax.” She said.
TK was a little surprise of how Gatomon was acting, “Speaking of Kari, Gatomon. You sure aren’t acting like yourself lately. Usually you’re a lot more aggressive with things and plus you even sound like Kari. Why is that again, I don’t remember the last explanation you gave before.”
“None of you business TK! If I wanna be nice
I’ll be nice and if I wanna be grumpy I can be grumpy
so back off. And yes I DO mind that
you’re being nosy.” Kari replied as TK had been convinced that the recent show
of kindness was just some fluke. He
turned his head as he looked the other way and continued to call for Kari.
With both of their eyes turned away, Kari wiped her forehead with her paw. She let out a sigh of relief as she had
managed to deceive TK and make him suspect everything was all right. “I have to be more careful, just remember
tough and mean. Yeah, just keep acting
like Gatomon, until I find her.”
Just like TK she looked down and shouted, “Kari!”
“TK, have you heard anything from Tai yet?” Pegasusmon asked as he continued to fly.
He stopped his calling to answer his friend, “That’s right Pegasumon,
I forgot to check if I had gotten email from him yet.” TK reached into his
pocket trying to find his D-terminal.
However Kari questioned, “Why would you get mail from Tai?”
“Don’t you remember Gatomon?” Pegasusmon asked.
“I sent an email to Tai when we woke up. Remember, I told you earlier that I wanted to
inform him that we haven’t found Kari yet.” TK explained.
Kari protested, “But are you sure that we should have included Tai in
this. I mean, sure we couldn’t find
Kari, but to include Tai?”
“But its only Tai, I mean he’s her older brother.” TK insisted, “Hey I did get an email, but it’s not from Tai. I wonder who could it be.” TK began to check up on the mail until he found out, “Hey it’s from Yolei.”
“What did she write TK?” Pegasusmon asked.
“Hey, Yolei says Tai and Sora had left to the go to the digital world a while ago. Funny, she writes that they were out to find us. It’s strange that I haven’t picked up anything on them yet.”
Kari thought, “Oh no, what if the same thing happened to them just like it happened to me. Oh please Tai and Sora, be all right.”
Meanwhile back in the real world
Everyone had agreed to meet at Yolei’s house for an important meeting. It was actually Yolei herself who proposed this urgent meeting. Unfortunately, what Yolei didn’t know was only Ken, Cody and Veemon would be her guests today. Veemon was actually the first one to arrive as he rung the doorbell to Yolei’s apartment. He was greeted as one of his little brothers ran across the room screaming. Yolei of coarse ran after him as he told Veemon to wait in her room. Ken and Cody soon arrived as well as Izzy. And they sat there waiting for two guests that would never arrive, TK and Kari.
“I wonder where the others could be?” Izzy asks.
“Good question Izzy, I already
tried to call the Kamiya’s house, but Kari’s mom says
that both Tai and Kari was out. They don’t know where Tai went off to and
they still think that Kari is sleeping over one of her friend’s house. I wonder how long they’re going to buy that.”
Yolei replied.
Suddenly another scream came from outside of Yolei’s
room this time however it was her little sister. Yolei gets back up
and runs out the door, “Be right back you guys!”
They sat in silence again as Veemon tried to be remain unnoticeable as possible. He hadn’t said a word yet for he might spark either Ken or Cody the question his voice. He knew he had to talk eventually, but he’ll try to be brief as much as possible. Bottom line he had to get help somehow.
“
Veemon was a bit startled as he said back, “Uh yeah,
Ken?”
“Where’s DemiVeemon?” Ken asked.
“What?” Veemon replied suddenly and quickly.
Ken asked again, “Where’s DemiVeemon? I didn’t see him when I arrived?”
“Oh uh…” Veemon stuttered “He was sick, so he had to stay home.” Veemon simpered.
This caught Cody’s attention; “You left DemiVeemon home alone, sick? Wouldn’t June notice that your little stuffed animal was coughing a sneezing?”
“Uh…” Veemon muttered, as he didn’t know what to say next. However he was saved when Yolei came back into the room. Veemon shouted, “Hey Yolei, I see you’re back!”
Yolei still had her back turned as
she was closing the door, “Yeah Veemon, my younger
brother’s and sisters can get a little wild at times. But it’s nothing I can’t handle.” She turned
to see that Veemon was nowhere to be found. She asked, “Hey! Where’s Veemon?”
Cody answered, “That wasn’t Veemon Yolei, it was
“
“Now that you mention it Yolei,”
Ken started, “You do sound a lot different
“Yeah…it must be from that cold I got from Veemon.” Veemon simpered once
again as the others stared at him.
Within their minds
“Well anyway, I wanted to tell you what happened earlier today. You see, Tai and Sora stopped by and asked me to open the digi-port for them. They said they were going to go and destroy some control spires.”
“So? I don’t see anything wrong with that.” Izzy replied.
“Well that’s not why I was worried about. They told me that TK and Kari were still in the digital world, but when I tried to search for Kari, I couldn’t come up with anything. I figured it must have been a glitch in my computer, but after I had examined it, I found nothing wrong.”
“Let me take a look at it Yolei.” Izzy offered as he pulled up a chair and began to search through her computer.
While he did that Ken replied, “So you haven’t heard from them since then?”
Yolei shook her head, “Nothing, not even an email. Although, I did send an email earlier to TK’s D-terminal that he would be seeing Tai and Sora soon. I haven’t gotten anything else though.”
Izzy pushed back at the chair, “Your right Yolei, something is wrong.”
“Really what?” Yolei replied as she walked over to her computer.
“There’s nothing wrong with your computer, but when I tried to search to Tai and Sora nothing had appeared. I then thought of searching for Kari and Gatomon, but they didn’t appear either. In fact the only other beings I can pick up is TK and Patamon. Now you’re sure they went into the digital world?” Izzy asked.
“Positive, I know I opened the gate for them.” Yolei replied.
“Perhaps they are already home.” Cody included. Izzy reached over to the phone and started to dial up the Kamiya’s residence. As he waited for someone to pick up the others had their own little conversation. Leafmon replied, “What can be going on Ken?”
“I don’t know Leafmon, but I can tell that it can’t be good.” Ken replied
Veemon thought, “Oh man, what
could have happened to
They heard Izzy hang up the phone. “Ok, now I’m beginning to worry.”
“What’s up Izzy?” Veemon asked.
“I just finished up calling both Tai’s and Sora’s place. I both got their parents telling me that they are still out. It just doesn’t make any sense, where else could they be?” Izzy replied.
“Well, we know that they still have to be in the digital
world, but our why aren’t they showing up on the screen. I couldn’t even pick up their digimon also. They
wouldn’t bring the digimon here, so that means they
must still be in the digital world.” Izzy concluded,
“Wait I know! I remember I sent
“Huh? What?” Veemon said surprised and confused.
“Do you still remember where the three of you met?” Izzy asked.
“Uh…I think so.” Veemon replied, “Why?”
Izzy turned back around, “Good cause that’s where we’re going to start. We know that their in the digital world, but for some strange reason our scanner can’t locate them. But I think if we were in the digital world it self I could create a direct scan through your D-3’s to locate everyone. You would still have to been within a certain range for it to work. So, I need you to remember what was the last place you, TK and Kari last visited.”
Izzy turned his seat back around,
“I want you, Yolie, and Ken to go into the digital
world. Cody I’ll need you here for other
reasons.
Everyone seemed to agree, but Cody asked, “Izzy what exactly did you want me to do?”
“Well, if you’ve forgotten, Yolei still has babysitting duties. And you are the youngest and seem pretty mature for your age. I think you would be the best choice for the job.”
“Oh great, I’m stuck with this job?” Cody replied.
Upamon however replied, “Don’t worry Cody, I’ll help you with this.”
“Thanks Upamon.” Cody replied
“Oh, who is watching your brothers and sisters anyway Yolei?” Ken asked.
“Poromon, I felt he would amuse them somehow.” Yolei replied.
Suddenly however a couple of screams could be heard from the other room as Yolei rushed out of room to see what was going on. It seem that poor little Poromon was being pulled back and forth by her little brother and sister. If he were actually a stuff animal, he wouldn’t have lasted for very long.
Meanwhile back in the Digital World
TK and Kari were still flying around on Pegasusmon’s back. They still had no idea where Kari was and began to become discourage that they would never find her. Kari herself was feeling it was rather a hopeless cause, as she would never find Gatomon or her body. TK sighed as he was in no mood to give up, but he was quite tired to continue.
“Are you feeling ok TK?” Kari asked.
“Actually I’m feeling pretty low about now. I would have though we would have found her by now. But what if we never find her. What if I never see her again, I never said how much I cared for her before. I don’t know why, I just wish I could have said something earlier. I guess its because I never really thought she’d be gone. Now, I really regret ever telling her how much I loved her.”
Kari started to speak softly, “TK, I have something to tell you.”
TK was a little distracted, but he managed to hear what Kari was saying as he adjusted his eyes and rested upon Kari. Kari however did not want to make eye contact for what she was about to tell him wasn’t going to be easy. She looked towards the ground as she was prepared to tell him everything that had happened to her.
“You see TK, something happened between me and Kari before you arrived.” Kari began.
“And that would be?” TK asked.
As Kari was about to open her mouth and reveal the truth, an echoing noise suddenly heard. It was more like a screech or battle cry as it came closer to them. Out of nowhere a echoing blast rings were coming straight for Pegasusmon. Unaware of this Pegasusmon was hit directly to the two energy rings as it almost knocked TK and Kari off. TK shouted, “What’s going on!?!”
They looked around as they saw two Vilemon appear from the darken sky. TK shouted, “Pegasusmon watch out!” as the two charged for them. They had the element of surprise this time and now there were two of them now.
The two shouted, “NIGHTMARE SHOCKER!” from their grinning mouths emerged out their attacks. The blast rings heading straight for Pegasusmon as he was too heavy to steer out of the way. He did not have the capabilities to dodge both attacks as one of them hit him straight at his side. As his body swerved Kari lost her balance as she was knocked off and started to plummet towards the ground.
“Gatomon!” TK shouted as the two Vilemon persisted in their attacks. They attacked again as this time TK a lost his control and fell just as Kari had done a few moments ago. Pegasusmon was nearly out of strength as he was repeatedly hit, but he knew he had to try and save both of them. He dived down to try and reach them, but unexpectedly the two Vilemon showed up and slashed at him with their sharp talons.
The effect was that Pegasusmon was beaten as he dedigivolved back in Patamon and the digi-egg of hope shot back to TK. Patamon started to plummet but one of the Vilemon dived in and grabbed him and started to make a get away.
TK and Kari were falling towards the forest below as their only chance was being taken away. TK shouted, “PATAMON!” as he saw his tiny partner being carried off unconscious and hurt. He could do nothing to help his friend. Although that was the least of his worries for now as they were about to get seriously injured when they hit the ground. They approached the canopy, as Kari knew she had to do something.
“I failed to save Gatomon, I’m not going to fail to try and save myself and TK.” Kari thought, as her body was the first to reach the treetops. She crossed her arms placing them in front of her to try and protect herself from the tree branches. Then something hit her as she was struck with an idea. Her body passed through the canopy as she hit a some of the leaves and branches. However as she fell she used her long tail to grab a hold of long sturdy branches and held her back up. She came to complete halt as it stung a bit having for obvious reasons.
She heard TK cries as he saw him falling towards her. As he passed right down through the trees Kari managed to time herself and quickly reached out to grab a hold of TK’s hands. It put more weight on her as it stung a little bit more. She didn’t care however as she shouted, “TK, hold on!”
She wasn’t really struggling as she had the strength of a champion level digimon. However from the two recent pulls and addition weight, Kari wasn’t about to give up, but the branch sure was. They heard it crack as it finally gave way and they fell once again.
Kari still held on to TK’s two hands, but she needed another plan. Thinking as fast as she could she saw no other way to solve this problem. Suddenly she got another idea as she let go of one TK’s hands and brought it back. She then at full force stabbed at the tree with her cat paws. They dug into the tree causing the to slow down. The force that was being applied to her paw was a bit painful. But through her efforts they managed to gain a safe distance from the ground until they came to halt. She let go of his hand as TK fell to the floor and land on his feet. Kari then pulled back her paw out of the tree and landed back down along TK.
She held her right paw, as it was a little scratched up below her cat glove. TK walked over to her as he replied, “Thank you Gatomon. You saved me.” He noticed however that Kari was holding her palm as it was hurt. “Gatomon, are you all right?”
She shuttered away, she didn’t want TK to worry about her, “I’m fine TK, it’s nothing.”
“No come on, I know your hurt. Let me take a look at it.” He knelt on the ground to meet at her level. Kari knew he was going to pester her until he has convinced her to let him take a look at it. So, instead of dragging it any longer she decided to let him help. She turned around and walked over to him. She showed her wrist as she said, “See it’s nothing bad.”
“Still, I don’t want you getting too scruff up.” Looking around seeing nothing around he could use as a bandage. TK improvises as he takes the bottom of his shirt and tares a piece of it off. He started to wrap it around Kari’s paw as she replied, “Oh TK, you didn’t have to do that.”
“Hey, it’s just a shirt and besides I think your health is more important then some meaningless piece of clothing. I’ve got other shirts at home you know.” TK explained.
She admired TK’s deep caring and sympathy towards others. Him seemed so innocent even though they went to the same school and were about the same age. We didn’t however have to time to understand what had happened as the two Vilemon showed up again and took us in different directions.”
TK replied, “I see you’re serious. But I you are telling the truth, Kari. Then Patamon is in serious trouble. Hurry we have to go find him!”
“Wait TK, I thought…well, I can’t really explain it. Maybe it’s because of what you said before when we were flying. When you said you loved me and never got the chance to tell me. Well, I’m listening now and I heard your true feelings.” She leaned her head forward as she closed her eyes. She licked her lips as she placed them on TK’s awaiting face. It felt so even weirder now for TK, as he knew she was telling the truth, but he only saw the body of Gatomon’s pressing up against him.
Kari could feel that he wasn’t relaxing and falling into the mood. “What’s wrong TK, I thought you said you loved me?”
