Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, period. That's about it.

Island Paradise

Part 1: Let's Get Down To Business

by El Intruder

The sound of a both a loud bell and of his grumbling stomach told Chris that it was lunchtime. However, the 19 year old boy didn't move away from his desk. He looked around the room he was in, trying to occupy his mind with something. The room was normal in size, only containing a desk, a computer, and other miscellaneous things you'd see in any normal room, like a wastebasket, a shelf with some books, two armchairs and a small radio. Finding it to be all dull, he turned back to the computer with a frustrated look in his face. He took off his glasses and cleaned them with a nearby handkerchief.

"This is stupid." He said to himself as he put his glasses back on. "You'd think that coming up with new ideas would be easier than this."

Chris gave a weary sigh and slumped back into his chair. When he had taken the job in the DigiArtistsDomain as a lemon writer and director, he had expected it to be easier than people gave credit for. He had to admit, it was easy at first, coming up with things that people would enjoy, and he had been praised by many people for his five jobs, something that he was very proud of, considering that he was just a beginner in the business. Not many beginners could say that they had managed a good lemon with someone like Cyberdramon. This wasn't because of Cyberdramon's mood, which was certainly the complete opposite of how he was always portrayed, the mechanical dragon was actually a very nice guy and had a great sense of humor. No, it wasn't because of his attitude, but because of his physical apparence. His savage looks and big size made some people think otherwise of working with him, even though most of the ladies that worked on the lemon scenes certainly wanted to work with him. Chris was probably the first person who had managed to work that greatly with Cyberdramon (without even adding a female to it) and though he was proud of it, he was not one to boast and didn't let fame go to his head. He knew that even though he seemed to be quite good, he was still in the minors and needed to work some more to become at least half as good as some others in the place, who had much more experience than him.

This seemed like a good move though, because after his fifth work, Chris's mind appeared to have emptied. It had been months since he had written anything and worked with anybody. For a long time he had been straining his brain, trying to come up with something that people would enjoy, but nothing came to mind. Needless to say, Chris was getting quite frustrated over this. Hadn't he been considered a great lemon writer by many fans and by fellow writers as well? Wasn't he the one that did so well at writing plots and romantic essence to his works, rather than just go for sexual scenes? The skills of the one known also as El Intruder seemed to have abandoned him. He really wanted to write something new for people to enjoy, but the lack of ideas was quite depressing. It was extremely hard work to think of good and likeable plots for lemons.

A knock on the door to his working room made Chris almost jump up in surprise. The door opened and Chris started to say he didn't want any visitors, but stopped when he recognized the big humanoid lion Digimon that had entered.

"Hi, Chris. How are you today?" Asked Leomon. He walked over and sat down on a big armchair besides Chris's desk chair. He was wearing his usual outfit of pants and sword, and was carrying a bag, which Chris imagined must have contained things he needed for work. Being a character and working in lemons wasn't as easy as many people thought, especially when one had to work for many people, but Leomon was a great Digimon to work with, he took it very professionally and enjoyed it at the same time. He looked at Chris's depressed expression with a concerned look.

"Hey, what's the matter?"

"Oh, come on." Chris answered with a tone that sounded half-bored, half-embarrased. "You know perfectly well what's going on. I'm in useless status in here. I haven't come up with anything good to do, most of the Digimon have even forgotten that I exist."

"Come on, that's not true. They're just too busy, that's all." Leomon said. He smiled at Chris and put one big hand on Chris's slender shoulder. "Cheer up, you'll think of something, and you know that I'm willing to help you out."

Chris looked up at Leomon's face and smiled a bit. "Thanks." He said in a low, though bit more cheerful voice.

Leomon smiled brightly, showing two rows of extremely sharp teeth which could have frightened most people, but Chris wasn't intimidated by it at all. Leomon casually reached over and took the mouse of Chris's computer, which looked very tiny in his huge hand. He worked it expertly with only two fingers. He then turned off the computer and stood up. Chris stood up as well, Leomon playfully ruffled Chris's short black hair, put his arm around the skinny teen and walked him out of the room.

"Let's go have lunch." Leomon said as they passed several rooms where fellow DaD members worked as writers, artists and many other things. "I'll pay for it this time. We can think of something for you to work on while we eat."

Despite his current problem, Chris started to feel much better. Leomon always cheered him up, no matter how bad he felt. It wasn't a secret that these two were like brothers, it was perhaps one of the most well-known friendships at the DaD. Chris had been a big fan of Leomon ever since he first saw him on the normal Digimon T.V show. Always thinking of lions as incredible and fascinating creatures, Chris had been known for being Leomon's biggest fan when he first applied at the DaD. Of course, meeting Leomon on his first day at work was amazing. He was quite nervous of meeting his favorite Digimon, especially when Leomon looked very intimidating, despite his good manners and calm demeanor. Leomon took a liking to the shy and quiet boy who was his biggest fan and spent most of his spare time with Chris. After Chris got to know him better, he decided to make his three first works with Leomon, not that this wasn't on his mind before even applying for the job. He also added Angewomon to his first works, because Leomon confessed to Chris that he had a thing for her. After the success of his first three-part lemon, Chris and Leomon went from very good friends to best friends, they liked working together and hanging out when out of work, having lots of fun.

After walking for a while and going three floors down the stairs, Chris and Leomon entered the crowded cafeteria, full of humans and Digimon, most of which were already eating their lunches. They both took big trays and got in line, choosing their food. Something that all the people who worked for at the DaD enjoyed, was the huge variety of foods that they had in the cafeteria, there was something of everything there, with the same quality but at lower prices than normal restaurants. Chris picked up a simple lunch of french fries, a hamburger, a soda and a fruit roll-up, while Leomon, who hadn't had any breakfast, picked a big slab of babyback ribs with barbeque sauce, a baked potato dripping with butter, an extra large soda, a fruit salad and a piece of chocolate cake with vanilla ice-cream on top. Chris was always surprised at the large amounts of food Leomon could eat without adding even the tiniest bit of fat to his body, though he didn't quite know that the lion Digimon spent more time in the gym than he could think of, always determined to keep in great shape, and though Leomon also had a strict diet, he sometimes took the chance to enjoy a very good meal, like the current one. Leomon paid for their food and they took their trays full of food to a table in the corner which was empty, and sat down to eat.

"Hey, guys, how you doing?" A deep voice said a minute after Chris and Leomon had begun eating.

"Mind if we sit here?" Someone else asked.

Chris and Leomon turned their heads to see Cyberdramon carrying a tray about as big as Leomon's and another as big as Chris's. He set the trays down and sat beside Chris, while Chris saw Gomamon climbing up to the seat beside Leomon. They also began eating their lunches. Cyberdramon was a good friend of Chris and often thanked him for making him likeable to others through his lemon, and Gomamon was a cheerful little guy, and though he hadn't had the chance to work for Chris, he still liked the boy, since it reminded him of a real life version of his onscreen buddy, Joe.

"What's new?" Gomamon asked between bites.

"Quite an important deal for us." Leomon replied. "I'm trying to help Chris come up with a new lemon idea, he hasn't gotten any in a while."

"Huh?" Cyberdramon uttered, turning his now maskless face to Chris. Without his metallic mask, his face was just like any normal dragon's was, with sky-blue eyes that revealed a calm demeanor, nothing that many people would fear. Without his mask, Cyberdramon didn't look as threathening as he did with it on, though not many people looked at his face when he met them. They rather keep a close eye on his razor sharp claws.

"You're still in blank?" Gomamon asked after swallowing a mouthful of food. "I thought it wouldn't be that bad."

"You mean you have no new ideas?" Asked Cyberdramon. "Oh, but I wouldn't worry. This is a bright mind I see in this kid. You're a little genius, Chris, and I'm more than sure that by the end of the day, you'll think of something. Come on, Intruder, buddy, you're my hero, you can do anything!"

Chris couldn't help but smile. The thing he liked most about Cyberdramon was his seemingly endless enthusiasm and how he was always seeing on the positive side of things.

"That's right!" Gomamon added. "You can think of something, and you have three friends to help you here."

However, lunch went by and none of them could come up with anything good and original enough. They finished their lunches, Chris starting to look a little depressed once again. Cyberdramon picked up his and Gomamon's empty trays and Leomon took his and Chris's to take them to the 'Used Trays Basket' at the front of the cafeteria. Chris stood up and Gomamon jumped on his back, hanging by Chris's neck with his flippers, wanting a piggyback ride. Contrary to many Digimon, Gomamon had exactly the same cheerful and laidback attitude that he portrayed in the T.V show and in the lemons he worked in. They all walked to the front, dumped the trays on the basket there and walked out, heading to Chris's working room.

"Maybe we can look something up on the Internet." Cyberdramon suggested to Leomon as they walked a bit a head of their companions. "There are endless stories on many places in there. Why don't you just pick some of them and mix the plots together?"

"No, I think it's better to just think about something ourselves. It wouldn't be fair for Chris to take ideas from other writers. He needs to do his own ideas, that's his style." Leomon responded.

"Let's just let them bicker all they want together, while you and me talk here." Gomamon said, still clinging on to Chris's neck. "Listen, Chris, you're too stressed right now."

"I know." Chris replied glumly.

"Might I suggest something?"

"Yeah, go ahead."

"Why don't you just find a way to relax? I bet you've been mostly cooped up in that little work room of yours, trying to come up with new ideas. Nothing's gonna enter that thick skull of yours if you're under so much stress. Take a break." Gomamon suggested.

Chris thought about it. "You know, I think you might be right. I don't even remember last time I went to a swimming pool, or to the arcades."

"See? Told you!" Gomamon smirked, relishing on the fact that he was proven correctly.

"Well, what do you suggest I could do?" Chris asked the small aquatic Digimon.

"Maybe you need a weekend off at a nice hotel by the beach." Gomamon suggested. "Take a look at me, I'm leaving in two days for a two week vacation on a nice little village on St. Croix. Nothing but beach, sun, good-looking girls, tasty foods and drinks, nice music, a comfy room, some good movies. I'd call it fantasy island. Wasnt there a T.V show called like that?"

It was then when it hit him. He felt it like a splash of cold water on a hot summer day. He strained his brain a bit, thinking about what Gomamon had said. An island, probably a resort in it. Maybe add a bunch of people there. Nothing but good fun. But there was something else that could be added to all that, he just needed to check a few things and put them in order. Chris had finally gotten an idea. He reached over and pulled Gomamon off of his back and carried him in front of him, looking at the confused little guy.

"Hey!" Stammered a startled Gomamon. "What? It was just a suggestion!"

"Gomamon, you are a genius!"

"I am?" Gomamon asked a bit surprised. "Oh, yeah! I am!"

Chris started walking a bit faster, carrying Gomamon with him. He passed by Leomon and Cyberdramon, who stopped talking when they saw him hurry past them.

"What's with him?" Cyberdramon asked.

"If I didn't know him any better, I think he's just thought of something." Leomon replied.

Considering Chris's work room was three floors up and the elevator was out of order, they all had to walk up the stairs. It took about five to ten minutes for Leomon and Cyberdramon to reach Chris's work room. They entered and saw Chris working on his computer with Gomamon back to hanging on Chris's neck, staring over his shoulder at the computer screen. Considering that Chris seemed out of breath, the two big Digimon figured he ran all the way to the room.

"Chris, what happened?" Cyberdramon asked as he walked over to one side of Chris's desk to have a look at the computer.

"Have you thought of something?" Leomon asked as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a bottle of cold water. On the way up, he had stopped at a vending machine and bought a bottle of water, just in case, since he knew Chris could sometimes get a bit over-enthusiastic about things. He stood on the other side of the desk and handed the bottle to Chris.

"You can bet on it!" He said in a tired but happy voice. He took the water bottle, opened it and drank almost half of it before continuing. "I got an idea, thanks to Gomamon here."

"Oh, nothing to it!" Gomamon said with a smile.

"So, what's the whole thing about? Because from the looks of it, it looks like I'd enjoy it." Cyberdramon said.

"Well, I'll be damned. That place looks amazing." Leomon said as he looked on Chris's computer and saw a picture of an enormous mansion on an island. He could make out an enormous swimming pool, a tennis court, a basketball court, a small harbor for boats to be tied, and a beautiful beach surrounding the island.

"I knew you guys would like it." Chris said. "You see, I've heard that this place was available and now that I think of it, it would be a great place to go. I'm planning on sending some of you guys there. You see, I won some tickets a few months back on a contest to spend a week there, but due to my little crisis of no new ideas, I didn't think of using them until Gomamon here suggested it. I won ten tickets to go there, all expenses paid. Meaning that there's enough food, water, beverages, other supplies, plus the use of anything there, all for free."

"Damn, that was amazing luck, winning a price like that, and better yet if you plan on sending us there! But what's that got to do with your new idea?" Cyberdramon asked.

"Well, since I have ten tickets, I'll give them away to ten Digimon here. Five males, five females. Of course, Gomamon can't be one because he's gotta go on vacation. Anyway, these ten Digimon will stay one week in the island, doing whatever they want, having lots of fun. When the week is gone and all Digimon come back, I'll interview them all and ask them to tell me their experiences on the island resort during that week. That's where I'll get not just one, but many lemons."

"Because, certainly, having five guys and five girls who work in this sort of business, all alone on an island for a week, some hot stuff's bound to happen." Gomamon added in a matter-of-factly tone. Leomon and Cyberdramon smirked at this, loving the idea of spending a week on a luxurious and secluded resort with five girls.

"I'll go home, get those tickets and bring them here tomorrow. And then I'll choose the Digimon who'll go." Chris told his Digimon friends with a smile. "So, just in case, start packing your bags. My inspiration is back in business and the ones who get the chance to go, will be up for a big load of fun!"

To Be Continued...

Next, on Chapter 2, ten Digimon will be chosen to go to that island, but five DaD guys will have a chance at going too.
