A young teen was running down the street. He seemed to be in a hurry, jogging across the street and rushing through an ally. The teen then joined a group of other student about his age.
“Late as usual Takato.” One of them said with a smile. He was dark-blue haird and slightly dark skinned.
“(huff, huff) Hi everyone… And Henry, I was late because I had to help my parents in their bakery.” The boy named Takato answered his blue haird friend.
“Well, that’s new goggle head. Last time you said that was yesterday.” A girl with a red ponytail teased him.
“You’re right, Rika! You’re getting old quickly Takato, ha.” Another boy wearing a cap laughed as his mate that was wearing glasses chuckled with him.
“Hey, lay off you guys! I wanna see you in my shoes someday. Kazu, Kenta! You supposed to be on my side!” Takato said in frustration, getting quite upset by his friends constant nagging. They all then laughed together before realizing they were getting late for class.
“Better get to class.” Henry said, but then Takato stopped him, “Hey, have you seen… Jeri?”
“She probably beat us to class, just go to her and give her a special hi.” Henry told him, grinning a bit. Takato quickly blushed, “That’s not it!”
“Come on guys! Or do you wanna stay out off class holding buckets of water.” Rika then interrupted and dragged her two friends.
“Wait for us!” Kazu and Kenta yelled.
Yes, those were the Digimon Tamers. Eight years has passed after their adventure ended, all of them attend at the local high school. Although they are all grown up, they haven’t forgot about their Digimon partners as they still visit them in the Digital world through the portal inside Guilmon’s shack. And if there’s one Tamer that haven’t forgot about her partner the most, it’s Jeri.

Several hours later, at lunch break…
A pretty youthful girl with long brown hair was walking slowly to the school’s cafeteria. She plainly ordered a bowl of salad and a box of orange juice. She took her plate and was looking for a space between the crowded seats to sit.
“Hey! Jeeeri! Over here!” A boy called out to her. She turned to him and saw that it was Takato, waving at her. She smiled and went right to him.
“Hi everyone.” Jeri greeted her friends. Takato, Henry and Rika were together having lunch and Takato saved a seat for Jeri.
“I saved this for you.” Takato said and pointed to a seat beside Rika.
“Thanks Takato.” She gently smiled at him, which made him blush. Henry slightly laughed in his chewing, while Rika sighed. They then had a nice meal, talking about their adventure and how much they miss their Digimon.
“Man, those were the days. You still have your Digivices, right?” Takato asked them and took out his D-Arc from his pocket.
“Of course! You think I’m going to lose such a thing. You’re the one that have to be careful, goggle head.” Rika smirked at him.
“What do you mean by that? And why do you still call me that?”
“And why do you still wear that goggle?”
“Guys, guys, we don’t need a fight now, especially for something silly like that.” Henry cut their argument and calmed them down.
“You’re right… But I still like to keep this goggle because it has very sentimental value to me. I sure miss Guilmon… Hey, how about we visit them in the digital world after school?” suggested Takato.
“That’s not a bad idea, you sometimes come up with good ones Takato.” Rika teased him again. “I agree on that.” Henry laughed.
Takato grumbled a few words before turning to Jeri, “What do you say Jeri? Why don’t you accompany us? It’s been a long time since you visited it last.” He then asked her. Jeri kept silence for a moment. She looked a bit troubled, like something bothering her. Everyone noticed that she was sad.
“Jeri…”
“Excuse me.” She said and stood up. She then walked away from her friends all of the sudden. The others were surprised by her odd behavior.
“Was it something we said?” Rika wondered.

“TAKATOMON!!!” Guilmon ran to his partner in joy. Takato and his two other friends just came to the Digital World to visit their dear partners.
“Guilmon!” Guilmon jumped at Takato and pinned him to the ground, hugging him snugly and licking all over his face.

“I’m always so happy when I see you!”
“Heh, me too.” Takato said, wiping Guilmon’s drool.
“How have you been, Terriermon?” Henry asked his little rabbit Digimon. Terriermon hopped on his partner’s shoulder and hang over his head, “Great after seeing you Henry!” He told him and as Henry began to tickle him to death.
“Hello Rika, been a while.” Renamon greeted her dear Rika. Rika smiled at her and gave her a nice hug. “It sure was Renamon, I missed you.” “Me too.” They said to each other and embraced warmly.
They all then gathered under a tree and had a nice chat.
“Here Guilmon, I brought you these.” Takato took out some muffins from a box he was carrying. Guilmon’s eyes sparkled like diamonds when he saw this, “M…MMM, MUFFINS! I love you Takato!” he then snatched them from Takato’s hands in an instant. “Hey! Not all of them! You still act like a baby, Guilmon! When will you grow up?” Takato scolded him while the others laughed.
“Here you go, Terreirmon.” Takato threw a piece to him. Terriermon grabbed it like a pro baseball player. “Thanks Takato!” he thanked him and started to munch it.
Takato then went to Renamon and handed her a muffin. “No thank you, I’m not into theses sort of things.” She apologized. “Ah, come on Renamon. I haven’t seen you eat anything in my whole life. Show us you’re cute little mouth…”
She looked at Rika as she nodded to her. “Ok, thank you.” Renamon smiled and took the muffin. “That’s a good girl!” said Takato.
After a while of spending sometime together, “So, how’s the real world?” Renamon then asked.
“Yeah, I sure miss it, especially my shack.” Guilmon followed.
“A bit boring if you ask me. But it’s okay.” Henry answered them.
“And how’s the others? And Jeri?” Terriermon said. The Tamers faces then turned pale when he asked that. “What? Have I said something bad?”
“No Terriermon, you haven’t. Everyone’s ok.” Takato told him, trying to hide the fact that there’s something wrong with Jeri. Their Digimon knew this but decided not to talk about it, knowing that it won’t do any good.

Later at dusk…
Takato, Henry and Rika were walking home after visiting the digital world.
“That sure was fun!” Takato happily said.
“Yeah, we should visit them more often.” Henry replied.
“Maybe we’ll bring’em back with us to the real world next time.” Rika told her fellow tamers.
They then arrived at the park they usually hang out when they were kids.
“Hey, isn’t that Jeri at the swings?” Rika pointed out. They turned to the swings and saw that she was right. It was Jeri, sitting at one of the swings, alone.
“Guys, can you go on with out me? I want to stay with her for a while.” Takato requested his friends.
“Sure thing Takato.”
“Try your best to cheer her up.” Henry and Rika winked at him before going on their way and leaving him behind. “Ahh, you guys…”
He moved toward the swings till he was right next to her. She didn’t notice him, lost on her own thought and gazing down at the ground. Takato really felt sorry for her and wanted to do something for her.
“What’s wrong Jeri?” Takato talked at last.
“(soft gasp) Takato! Since when where you here.” Jeri asked, a bit startled.
Takato smiled and apologized for startling her, “Sorry about that, and I just got here.” He said and sat on a swing beside her. She smiled back at him and then looked away. They sat like this for a minute, neither of them saying a word.
“Something wrong with you Jeri. Why don’t you tell me? Don’t you… trust me?” Takto then said with a sad tone.
“No! No, it’s not that! Of course I trust you, Takato. It’s just…”
“What?”
“Do you know what today is?” She asked him while he thought for a moment. “Well, not exactly. Today’s Friday, it’s not a special holiday and not a birthday of any of my friends…”
Jeri giggled, “Silly Takato. I’ll tell you… It’s the day I met Leomon for the first time.” Takato was truly stunned by this, “Really? You remember that day?”
“How can I forget? He was wonderful… Every year, when this day comes, I feel quite anxious. I really miss him. And when you all started talking about you Digimon partners at school, I felt quite envious. Seeing that all your Digimon are still well and happy, why couldn’t Leomon be the same? “That’s enough!” Takato suddenly shouted in anger, getting off the swing.
“Takato…”
“So are you going to mourn for him for the rest of your life? He’s gone Jeri, and there’s nothing you can do about it. I know that you’re very fond of him and miss him, we all do, but you have to let go of the past!” Takato yelled at her. He didn’t know what got into him, he just felt mad about all of this.
“Takato… I… can’t…” Jeri eyes began to be filled with tears. Takato didn’t know what to say or do anymore. He just started to walk away, but then stopped. “I just want you to know one thing Jeri…” He uttered, his back turned to her.
“And that is… I love you, and I’ll always be here for you.” He finished and quickly ran off.

“Yes, It’s really me. I’ve come back… for you.” Leomon smiled gently at her.
“Oh Leomon!” Jeri cried happily and threw herself at him, resting on his great chest. “Tell me it’s for real. Tell me it’s not a dream.”

But I heard your voice calling for me to come back, and that what kept me going on.” Leomon told her. “Sorry for keeping you waiting all this time.”

“Me too.”
When they finally parted, they stared at each other for a moment.
“You’ve become a beautiful young lady, Jeri. Very beautiful.” Leomon admired her, which made her blush red. She then rested her hand on his cheek and rubbed gently along his charming face. “I never realized you were this handsome.” Jeri shyly said. Leomon smiled and grabbed her hand, squeezing it gently.
“How about we go out somewhere and spend sometime together?” Leomon then suggested.
“Yes! That would be wonderful, especially when the others see that you’re finally back.” Jeri happily answered, but was returned with a concerned look from Leomon.
“No, we can’t do that. No one must know that I’m back… for now.” Leomon told her. Jeri was quite troubled by this. Why not? Why hide the truth? But she didn’t give it much thought; she didn’t care as long as Leomon is here, nothing else matters to her now.
They both then got out of Jeri’s bed and she headed for the bathroom. “Wait for a few moments. I’m going to get myself ready.” She told him and was about to strip her clothes.

She was wearing a pretty red dress that reached down to her knees and her hair was fashioned by the same style she used when she was a little girl.
“Thank you, dear Leomon. That’s very noble of you. Now off to our date.” She bowed to him and then wrapped one arm around one of his. Leomon felt a bit shy but was very pleased to see her this happy.

Jeri and Leomon then went to the Digital World, deciding that it’s the best place to spend sometime together without anyone bothering them. They found a nice spot, with lush greenery and flowers surrounding it, and sat together there.
They had a nice lunch together from a basket Jeri brought with her. It wasn’t much, just some sandwiches and orange juice, but they enjoyed it a lot.
Jeri then told Leomon about what happened after Beelzemon deleted him, how D-reaper used her to fulfill his goals and how the Tamers defeated him. “I’m sorry Jeri. You went through a lot because of me… I didn’t know… how much I meant to you…” Leomon sadly uttered, feeling guilty for putting his dear partner through so much pain.

It was like a desert wasteland the last time I saw it.” Leomon exclaimed, referring to the Digital World. Jeri agreed, “Yeah, it became a very wonderful place.”
They soon arrived to a riverside. Jeri took off her shoes and dipped her feet in the cold pure water. She shivered a bit when she went deeper till the water reached her ankles. She then turned to Leomon and invited him to join her.
“Uhh, no thanks, I’ll pass.”
“Ah, come on, or are you afraid of water like a big fraidy cat?” She teased him.
“It’s not that. I just don’t like…” before he could finish his sentence, a splash of water hit his face. Jeri laughed her heart out when she saw his wet, loosened beard, face.
