DigiDOOM Part V

Author's Notice: This story contains graphic visual images of violence, hell, swearing, and possibly sex (great sounding already, huh?). Anyway, you probably shouldn't be reading this if you are offended by this sort a' shit. Or... if you're 18. Sorry, law requires me to say that.

Davis and Goliath

The sun fell slowly in the west, orange and yellow clouds streaked across the sky. The last bit of light from the day struck a lonely chunk of stone sticking up from soft, grassy earth. It was carved into a headstone. The words on the front read:

"In Remembrance of Takeru, (T.K.). Loving son, caring friend; Rest in Peace."

Kari looked over the words and closed her eyes. She was kneeling before T.K.'s grave, placing a single rose on the plot of ground in front of her. She suddenly gasped and held her forehead. She leaned forward, holding herself up on one hand, and sobbed silently.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." She repeated. Not too far away, leaning against a tree, Davis watched Kari. He knew T.K. for only ten minutes before witnessing his gruesome demise. They had just told T.K.'s mother why T.K. hadn't been coming home for a week now. She immediately committed herself. Davis shook his head, remembering the shocked look and broken spirit on the middle-aged woman's face.

"This is getting out of hand." He whispered.

"Okay," Doom pointed towards a section of the Digital world on the computer monitor in front of him, "Here's where the next weapon is. The rocket launcher. It's in some sort of... labyrinth I think."

"Andomon's Labyrinth." Izzy nodded, "I remember it well. I also have a detail map for all of your Digivices that I made during my... unpleasant stay there a few years ago." He glanced up at the Digidestined.

"Right." Doom nodded, "This place if full of Hell Knights and Barons' of Hell."

"Friendly names." Cody shrugged.

"About as docile as them too. They're like Cyberdemons except smaller and no rockets, thank God. On the other hand they're still powerful enough to rip a dump truck to shreds. If you're not careful and mindful of your surroundings, you're good as dead to the rest of us."

"I suggest we split into two teams." Izzy said, "We'll cover more ground, but we will still be safe in groups. I will monitor your progress from my computer and try my best to help you."

"I'll take Yolei and Cody." Doom said, "Davis, you and Kari be careful."

"We'll be fine." Davis nodded.

As the team came the opening of the labyrinth, they stopped to admire the craftsmanship of the archway. It looked like an old temple, except inside were hundreds of blood-thirsty demons lurking around in a maze of tunnels and passageways.

"Well, let's get to work." Doom hoisted his shotgun onto his shoulder. As they walked inside, they were immediately met with an explosion of electricity at their feet. As they looked towards the cause of the attack, the figure stepped towards them.

"What in the name of..." Doom raised an eyebrow.

"Andromon!" Kari lightened. It was Andromon all right. However, he did not seem himself. One could realize this by noticing he had an arm missing, ripped off by hordes of demons. Electric circuits dangled from the detached limb, sparking every so often. His left leg had been mutilated and crushed, causing him to pitifully limp everywhere. The rest of his body had a range from burns to bite marks to torn flesh. One of his eyes was missing, making it possible to peer into the Digimon's mechanical brain while the other was blood red. He had been deionized.

Ignorant to the new state of Mind Andromon was now cursed to be in, Kari ran up to him with enthusiasm.

"Andromon! It's great to see you!" She said. The decrepid android Digimon looked down at her.

"What happen to you? You hurt!" Kari finally realized his condition.

"Get the fuck away from that thing." Doom growled.

"No! It's okay! Andromon's our friend!" Kari said.

"Not now he isn't." Doom squinted his eyes at Andromon.

"But... AHG!" Kari was grasped by her neck from behind.

"Kari!" Davis stepped forward. Andromon turned Kari around to face him.

"Andromon, put me down! Don't you remember me!" She yelped, feeling his grip tighten.

"Fuck it!" Doom aimed his shotgun.

"Wait! You'll hit Kari!" Cody shouted. Doom growled with defeat but kept his gun up.

"Andromon! Let me go! Please!" Andromon just stared at her through his one red eye. Through his other eye socket, Kari saw a flicker of electrical disturbance.

"K... Kar..." He frizzled, "Errrrorrrrr..." He squeezed Kari harder making her cry in pain. The others stood watching her, unsure of what to do. Doom grit his teeth, waiting for the opening for his shot.

"Fire Rocket!!" A voice rang out. Three fireballs hit Andromon with grim accuracy, barely missing Kari. Stunned by the attack, the android Digimon dropped Kari. No one had seemed to notice that Davis had Armor-digivolved Veemon to Flamedramon. Doom grinned and took his shot. The hail of bullets buried deep into Andromon's rotting chest and sent him to the ground. He was down, but unfortunately not out. He groaned and slowly rose to a sitting position.

"Okay, I think we've spent enough time with the Tinman." Doom said, strifing to the side as he unloaded shell after shell into Andromon. Flamedramon quickly dashed forward, dodging the shots fired from Doom, and scooped up Kari. Ignoring Izzy's original plan, everyone went their separate ways into the labyrinth. As Doom fired the last round into Andromon's face, he retreated into the maze of stone corridors also. The mechanical Digimon laid on the ground, twitching as electrical surges flowed through him.

By the time Davis had stopped running he realized he was deep in the maze-like temple. He also noticed that Flamedramon wasn't with him. Instead, he found Gatomon panting and holding her chest next to him. She looked up at him and they both exchanged looks of worry.

"Where'd the others go?" Davis asked.

"Where do you think." Gatomon looked around. Davis groaned and leaned against the cold stone wall. Suddenly, he gasped.

"Kari!"

"... is with Flamedramon. She'll be all right, don't worry." Gatomon assured. Davis didn't seem to stem his flow of concern.

"We might as well start looking for that Missile Launcher." Gatomon began walking down the darkened corridor, "We might meet up with the others."

"Yeah..." Davis nodded, taking out his Digivice and reluctantly following Gatomon.

Meanwhile, Cody and Armadillomon had just realized their own mistake.

"I guess we deserve this for being cowards." Cody joked as they continued walking though the stone-walled cavern.

"Hey, speak for yourself! I was jus' followin' you to make sure ya' didn't get hurt." Armadillomon said confidently. Cody just raised his eyebrows at him.

"Sure..."

"What? I really was. I'm not afraid of anything." Cody was about to retort when a rustling ahead of them distracted their argument. They both froze and looked into the darkness. They couldn't see what was coming but they heard it.

"What the..." Cody squinted his eyes. A horde of bats flew out of the darkness. Cody eeped and flattened himself against the wall. Armadillomon shrieked as the bats flew past them. As the flock of winged rodents passed, Cody exhaled and looked at Armadillomon. He had rolled up into a ball and was rolling slight on the floor. Cody sighed and walked over to him. He kicked the ball slightly and said, "You can come out now." Slowly at first, Armadillomon unrolled. Looking around and seeing no bats, he fully unraveled.

"Not afraid of anything?" Cody chuckled.

"Heh, welllll..." Armadillomon smiled stupidly and rubbed the back of his head.

"You'd better Armor-Digivolve in case we find anything else bigger than a bat."

Yolei and Shurimon had already thought of that idea as they roamed through the temple's labyrinth. Yolei was staring at her Digivice, following the map Izzy had provided. Shurimon glanced at her every so often but remained on guard for any demon that might rear its ugly head.

"Are we close to the weapon?" He asked.

"Not really." Yolei frowned, "Its in the heart of the maze."

"And where are we?"

"Around the west edge." She sighed, putting away her Digivice, "This will take a while."

"Especially if we run into... any diversions."

"Don't remind me." Yolei shuddered. As they rounded a corner they were met with a large pit. This took Yolei by complete surprise. She stumbled and nearly fell in before Shurimon grabbed her.

"Thanks." She gasped, her heart racing, "What's going on? The map says there's a passage here!" She pulled out her Digivice.

"Perhaps the evil changed this place to their liking." Shurimon looked around.

"Great. So this thing is useless to us." Yolei growled, clutching her Digivice tightly.

"I'm sure we'll find the middle without a map." The ninja Digimon suggested.

"Yeah, but we'll find it a LOT slower now." They both turned around and began walking down the opposite corridor. Shurimon noticed that Yolei was a little more ill-tempered now.

"And where are these monsters that are suppose to be roaming around here?" She growled. The answer to her question came quickly as the sound of a metallic substance hitting the stone floor.

"Wha-? Eep!" Yolei gasped as she was pulled up, "Hey, what's..."

"Shhh." Shurimon silenced her. He had grabbed her and leapt onto the ceiling. She stayed quiet as the sound increased. Soon, a pair of what looked like a slightly smaller version of a Cyberdemon. The monsters' body was not filled with electronics, however, and its hands welded no missile launcher. Still, they were menacing. Their goat-legs alone looked like they could crush even Davis's thick skull. One was a reddish color and the other was a dull gray.

Suddenly, one stopped, smelling the air. It turned around and looked back where Yolei and Shurimon were. It slowly looked up towards the two hiding on the ceiling, just out of eyesight. Yolei clenched her eyes shut as Shurimon prepared to attack. Suddenly, the second grunted and hit the first. It growled back and they continued through the corridors. It glanced back at Yolei and Shurimon before leaving completely. The two sighed in relief and Shurimon gently let Yolei back onto the ground.

"I suggest you be a little quiet whilst we journey through this maze." He whispered. Yolei nodded and they walked down the hall opposite the one the two demons walked through.

Flamedramon looked through the halls of the deep catacombs as Kari leaned against the cold, stone wall, panting for breath. She took a long breath and sighed. She looked up at Flamedramon.

"Did you see where everyone went?"

"Into separate directions." He replied.

"Well... we should be able to find our way to the others with these maps Izzy gave us." Kari took out her Digivice, "I hope Gatomon's alright..."

"She'll be fine. After all, she's with Davis."

"That's what I'm worried about." Kari swallowed. A small beeping averted their conversation and Kari reached into her pocket. It was her D-Terminal/E-Mail. She opened and read the message. She frowned.

"Yolei says the maps are useless. She thinks that the evil changed this place." Kari looked at her Digivice, "So, basically, we're roaming around in the dark." Suddenly, fear gripped her. The realization that they may not get out this hellish maze... ever. Flamedramon noticed that she had stopped and was staring blankly into space. He paused and waved his clawed hand in front of her face.

"Kari? Kariii? Hello?" He shook her slightly. She gasped abruptly and looked up at him.

"We're totally lost... we don't have any way of knowing where we are." She said in a timid voice. Flamedramon swallowed, noticing Kari's anxiousness.

"Well... who needs a map anyway? I mean... I'm sure we'll find a way out of here."

"But how? It's useless..."

"Don't say that!" Flamedramon said, "We can at least find the others with your Digivice." Kari was reluctant but nodded.

"Yeah... I guess you're right."

"I know I'm right, now let's go find Gatomon and the others."

"How do I get myself into these situations?" Doom sighed, wandering the halls of the maze. He, unfortunately had no way of knowing where he was. He was stuck with using only his wits. After rounding another corner, Doom came to a huge room. It was completely empty except for a small, stone table in the middle of the room. Doom stepped into the room and a spotlight hit the table. Acting on instinct, Doom leapt back and cocked his shotgun. After realizing nothing was going to attack him, he looked up. Sitting on the table was the rocket launcher.

"Too easy." He frowned, standing up. He cautiously made his way to the table. He picked up the rocket launcher and looked around. He sighed.

"I would have expected more from hell than this." He sighed, walking away from the table. He stopped suddenly when he heard a growl. Turning around, he saw that the lights had gone up in the room. It was crawling with gray Hell Knights and red Barons' of Hell.

"Why can't I ever have a nice day." He sighed. The hundreds of demons ran straight towards him. Doom slung the Rocket launcher across his shoulder and brought forward his shotgun. As the first Hell Knight came forward, Doom simply blasted its head off. It's body tumbled to the floor, green blood pouring from its decapitated neck. As Doom fired into the group of demons, he backed, quickly out of the room. As the pellets of lead spread apart from each other, they did less and less damage to the huge group.

As Flamedramon an Kari continued through the maze, Kari's Digivice beeped. She looked at it and gasped.

"What?" Flamedramon asked.

"Something's up ahead. I can't tell what it is." She said. The two cautiously made their way in the direction her Digivice showed them. They soon came to a small room. Against the back wall, buried slightly in dirt, was a blue and black Digiegg.

"I guess we found Davis's." Kari said, opening her D-Terminal and E-mailing the others.

Davis and Gatomon stopped as they heard Davis's D-Terminal beep. He opened it and read the message from Kari.

"It looks like Kari found the last Digiegg." He said.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's it and find the others so we can get out of here." Gatomon nodded. After looking at Davis's Digivice, the two went down the hall towards Kari's position.

"Man, I don't see what Doom was so worried about." Davis chuckled, "There aren't any demons in here." Right as they rounded a corner, they came face to face with a Hell Knight. It snarled at them and raised its hands.

"I hate you, Davis." Gatomon growled, leaping forward. She dug her claws into its eyes, making it stumble back in pain. They quickly maneuvered around the demon and continued on towards Kari. After a while, and a little confusion, Davis and Gatomon found the small room with Kari and Flamedramon inside.

"Kari!" Davis's spirits immediately rose as he saw her.

"You're here!" She ran forward to meet them, her arms open. Davis smiled and opened his arms too, expecting a hug. Gatomon leapt up into Kari's arms and they hugged instead.

"Oh..." Davis chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head.

"Here's the last digiegg." Flamedramon said, pointing towards the small protrusion in the dirt. Davis wasted no time in going over to it.

"We got the E-Mail." They heard Cody say. He had just arrived with Digmon next to him.

"Don't forget us." Yolei and Shurimon weren't too far behind. Davis quickly lifted the Digiegg and turned around.

"Okay, can we please go, now?" Kari asked, "This place is really freaking me out."

"What about Doom?" Cody asked. The second he said that, Doom came running up to them, out of breath and panting.

"We were just about to look for you." Yolei said, "Did you find the rocket launcher?"

"Yes... and a couple... other things." Doom swung around. The others looked back to see the army of Hell Knights and Barons' of Hell.

"Wonderful." Kari sighed, pulling out her Digivice. After Armor-Digivolving Gatomon, everyone prepared for the onslaught.

Flamedramon ran towards a red Baron and stabbed his claws through its stomach. That only seemed to make it even more mad at him and it pushed him away.

"Fire Rocket!" He fired one huge fireball into the demon's face, scalding it. As it yowled in pain, Flamedramon ran forward and spun around, back-handing it. Wasting no momentum, he round-housed it into a group of Hell Knights.

"Fire ROCKETS!" He shot multiple fireballs into the group, sending them into flames.

Nefertimon and just kicked a Hell Knight in the face when another came at her.

"Queen's Paw!" The pair of beams pierced its chest and gurgled to a stop, falling to the floor and writhing slowly. She head-butted another into two Barons' of Hell and flew towards them. She plowed into them, driving them down the halls toward another room. In the middle of it was a huge pit. The struggling demons clawed at her, making her flinch slightly. She finally achieved her task and pushed the group down the pit, howling and screaming.

"Nefertimon!" Flamedramon saw the claw marks and blood across her back.

"I'm fine." She grunted back, kicking another Hell Knight tot he ground.

Digmon drove his drill through the stomach of a Baron of Hell and ran forward, getting another on the same drill. He used the other to drill through a Hell Knight's arm, leaving it limp at its side. He threw the two demons into the wall with a bloody splat. As a group of Hell Knights advanced on him, he simply pulled back his drilled hands to his chest.

"Gold Rush." He shot all five of his drills into the spray. They bore through the demons' flesh and bone, leaving dozens dead on the floor in heaps of gore and green blood.

Shurimon easily dodged a Hell Knight's attacks before upper-cutting it with his shuriken hand, cutting deep into its flesh. He turned around and threw out his hands, stabbing the shurikens into two Barons' of Hells' stomachs. He brought them towards himself and around, releasing them into a wall. He reach around and grasped the huge shuriken on his back.

"Double Star!" He brought it forward to stream down the demon-infested halls. It sliced through bone and flesh alike, leaving nothing in its path except decapitated Hell Knights, Barons' of Hell that were sliced in half with their entrails pouring out of their torsos, and others that were severely wounded. The Shuriken swooped back like a boomerang and cut down those who were lucky enough to miss it the first time. Shurimon caught it and spun around, kicking another Hell Knight to the ground.

Doom avoided being clawed by a near-by Hell Knight by rolling to the side. He got to his knees, shotgun aimed, and blew off the demon's out-stretched hand. It splattered grossly against the wall and Doom got up. He knocked the Hell Knight to the ground with the butt of the gun and blasted a large hole in its stomach. He popped another few shells into the shotgun and brought out his other. With a gun in each hand, Doom calmly walked down the halls, blowing away Barons' of Hell and Hell Knights. They splattered against the walls to leave bloody trails as they fell to the ground. A Baron of Hell came up to him and growled ferociously, bearing its teeth.

"Piss off." Doom growled back. He cocked his shotguns and fired them simotaniously into the creature's abdomen. Its spine and intestines blew out the other side and it collapsed on its own weight tot he ground. Doom cocked his shotguns again before continuing his shooting spree.

The Digidestined were too enthralled to notice a strange scraping sound behind them.

"Flamedramon, behind you!" Davis yelled, seeing the Hell Knight sneak up on it. Flamedramon easily spun around and dug his claws into its head with a squish.

"Okay, while they keep the demons busy," Yolei said, "We'll slowly back towards the entrance." The others nodded in agreement and began backing away. Suddenly, Davis eeped. He had backed into something.

"Um... Cody?" He asked nervously.

"Yeah?"

"Please tell me I backed into a really cold, metallic wall." Davis begged. Cody looked back and his eyes widened. Andromon reached down and grabbed Davis by the back of his neck. He lifted him with ease as Davis clawed at his hand. He looked something like a zombie with electrical surges pulsating through his body.

"He... wants... you..." He groaned in a electric, monotonous voice. He turned to the wall and pressed a button with his stub arm. It opened a chute in the wall and Andromon held Davis over the entrance.

"DAVIS!" Flamedramon knocked away a Baron of Hell and ran towards the two. A Hell Knight stalled him for a moment but he quickly sliced through its face, sending it to the ground to cry blood. He quickly ran toward Andromon, claws extended and growling. He leapt forward. Too late. Davis gave a long yell as he fell down the chute. The door closed with a snap.

"NOOOOO!!!" Flamedramon reached Andromon and burst into flames. He cut right through the android Digimon's mid-section and sent it to the floor. Flamedramon stopped and turned around, picking up Andromon's abdomen.

"WHERE DID YOU PUT HIM?!" He demanded.

"He'zzzz... with... himmmmmnowwwww." Andromon buzzed, twitching slightly. With a yell of fury, Flamedramon ripped Andromon to shreds of scrap metal.

Izzy jumped in his chair as the Digidestined group came through the computer. They looked like a wreck.

"What happened? I tried to contact you but there was interference in the maze." He said.

"We ran into trouble." Doom gingerly rubbed his scarred arm.

"Well at least you're back in one..." He noticed Flamedramon standing next to him, "Why didn't you De-digivolve?"

"There's... no D-Terminal to hold the egg."

"What?"

"We... sort of lost Davis." Cody swallowed.

"SORT OF?!" Izzy stood up, "Is he alright?"

"We... don't know." Kari stared at the ground.

"Then... he could be anywhere in the Digital World." Izzy looked back at the computer.

"Ohhh..." Davis groaned, slowly opening his eyes. A bright light shone into his eyes.

"Ow! Hey, could somebody turn of the sun?" He squinted his eyes, "Where am I?" He tried to look around but everything was fuzzy. As he tried to sit up, he found that he had been shackled tightly to the ground.

"Said the spider to the fly..." A dark and evil voice chuckled, "How do you wish to die?"

"What? Who's there? Where am I?" Davis tried in vane to see the person. The voice laughed long and loud.

A.E.: And then there were four. Who is this evil demon that has Davis held captive? What will the others do to save him? What will you have for breakfast tomorrow? I wonder what's on T.V. right now. Find out in the next installment of DigiDOOM: "Enemy Disclosed."

Okay, anyway, I really pushed myself to finish this part because I gave myself a deadline... um... tomorrow. Heh, heh. I think I've calculated it out... only four more parts to go before the grand Finale. Who will the Digidestined have to slay this time? Will Doom succeed in FINALLY getting rid of hell forever? I dunno *shrug*. I haven't written the other stories yet.
